About
Al-Hadi comes from the root h-d-y, meaning to show the way, to lead to the right path, and to guide. The word hidayah, guidance, shares this root. It covers both pointing out the way and helping someone walk it.
Allah's guidance can be understood on several levels: inspiring every living thing with what it needs to live, giving people reason and conscience, making the way clear through prophets and scriptures, and turning hearts toward walking that way. In Surah Ta-Ha, Moses describes his Lord as the One who gave each thing its form and then guided it.
The name appears in Surah Al-Furqan, verse 31: "sufficient is your Lord as a guide and a helper." The verse acknowledges that every prophet faced opposition, and emphasizes that for anyone walking the right path, Allah is enough as guide and helper.

And thus have We made for every prophet an enemy from among the criminals. But sufficient is your Lord as a guide and a helper.
Reflection
There are moments when two roads lie ahead and you can't tell which one is right. Al-Hadi reminds you that a heart asking for direction is not left alone. Guidance isn't a one-time event; it's a path you ask for and walk again every day. When you guide others, you can choose to do it without judgment, with patience, and by example.
