Al-Muhaymin

About
Al-Muhaymin is derived from the root h-y-m-n, though some linguists link it to a-m-n, the root of security and trust. The word means to watch over, to guard, to oversee and to bear witness.
Al-Muhaymin is the One who knows and keeps watch over the deeds, words, provision and lifespan of every creature. This watchfulness is not a threat but a form of care and protection: nothing lies outside His knowledge and nothing is left to drift.
The name appears for Allah in Al-Hashr 59:23. The same word is used in Al-Ma'idah 5:48 to describe the Qur'an as a guardian over the scriptures before it, confirming them and watching over them. That usage makes the protective and confirming sense of the word especially clear.
From the Qur'an
He is Allah, other than whom there is no deity, the Sovereign, the Pure, the Perfection, the Grantor of Security, the Overseer, the Exalted in Might, the Compeller, the Superior. Exalted is Allah above whatever they associate with Him.
