Al-Mu'id comes from the root '-w-d, meaning to return, to come back and to repeat something. Words such as i'adah (restoration), 'adah (habit) and 'id (a festival that returns each year) share this root, and all carry the sense of return and repetition.
Al-Mu'id is the One who brings His creation back to life after death and repeats the creation He began. The Quran stresses that the One who created the first time is able to create again, and that this is even easier for Him. The cycle of the seasons and the life that begins anew each morning can be seen as signs of this name.
The name does not appear in this exact form in the Quran, but verbs from the same root appear often, usually alongside verbs of origination. Surah Ar-Rum declares that it is He who begins creation and then repeats it. Surahs Al-Buruj and Yunus also mention originating and repeating together.
From the Qur'an
And it is He who begins creation; then He repeats it, and that is [even] easier for Him. To Him belongs the highest description [i.e., attribute] in the heavens and earth. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
Reflection
Something you lost, a relationship that broke down or a task left unfinished can look like an ending with no way back.
