Al-Matin

About
Al-Matin comes from the root m-t-n, which conveys firmness, solidity and endurance. In Arabic, matn refers to the back and to the strong, load-bearing part of something, the part that holds everything else up.
Al-Matin is the One whose strength is utterly firm, never touched by fatigue, weakening or interruption. Where Al-Qawiyy speaks of the completeness of His power, Al-Matin highlights its constancy and steadfastness.
As a name, it appears in Surah Adh-Dhariyat, in the verse declaring that Allah is the Provider and the firm possessor of strength. The verse comes right after the verses describing the purpose for which humans were created, and reminds us that He is the true source of all provision. The same root is used in Surahs Al-A'raf and Al-Qalam to describe the firmness of His plan.
