Al-Wakil

About
Al-Wakil comes from the root w-k-l, meaning to entrust a matter to someone, to rely on them and to lean on them. The word tawakkul, placing one's trust in someone and handing over one's affairs to them, shares this root.
Al-Wakil is the One who takes charge of the affairs of those who rely on Him, manages them in the best way and is sufficient for them. Unlike human agents, His care is free of any shortcoming, fatigue or neglect. Trust in Him does not mean abandoning effort; it means doing what you can and then leaving the outcome to Him with confidence.
The name appears in several verses affirming that Allah is sufficient as a Trustee. Surah Aal-Imran describes believers who were told that an army had gathered against them, yet the threat only increased their faith, and they said, "Sufficient for us is Allah, and He is the best Disposer of affairs."
From the Qur'an
Those to whom people [i.e., hypocrites] said, "Indeed, the people have gathered against you, so fear them." But it [merely] increased them in faith, and they said, "Sufficient for us is Allah, and [He is] the best Disposer of affairs."
Reflection
