Al-Khabir comes from the root kh-b-r, meaning to be informed and to know the inner nature of something. The everyday Arabic word for news, khabar, shares this root. Al-Khabir appears frequently in the Qur'an, often alongside Al-Latif, Al-Hakim or Al-Alim. Surah Al-Mulk asks, "Does He who created not know?", stressing that the Creator knows His creation best. Many verses close with the words "Allah is aware of what you do."
