Al-Majid
The Glorious; the One whose honor and generosity are without limit.
About
Al-Majid comes from the root m-j-d, which expresses glory, honor and exaltedness together with abundant generosity. It is reported that the word was also used in the sense of plenty, so the root holds both loftiness and generous abundance at once.
Al-Majid is the One whose essence is exalted, whose deeds are beautiful and whose gifts and kindness overflow. His glory comes not from greatness alone, but from greatness joined with generosity and goodness.
In the Quran the name appears in Surah Hud, when the angels bring glad tidings to the household of Abraham and describe Allah as "hamidun majid," Praiseworthy and Honorable. Surah Al-Buruj mentions Him as the glorious Owner of the Throne, and in Surahs Qaf and Al-Buruj the Quran itself is called "Quran majid," the glorious Quran.

They said, "Are you amazed at the decree of Allah? May the mercy of Allah and His blessings be upon you, people of the house. Indeed, He is Praiseworthy and Honorable."
Reflection
Honor is often measured by position, lineage or title. The glory of Al-Majid, however, is inseparable from His generosity; real worth shows up less in what you have than in what you do with it. You can build your own standing through the good you bring to others. Protecting someone else's dignity is one of the finest ways to protect your own.
