About
Al-Bari' comes from the root b-r-', which means to create and bring into being, and also to be free of or clear from something. The words bariyya (creation, all created beings) and bari' (free, innocent) share this root.
Al-Bari' is the One who brings creatures into existence distinct from one another, free of defect and in harmony with each other. Where Al-Khaliq emphasizes determining and measuring, Al-Bari' emphasizes bringing that decree into existence complete and balanced. The unique makeup of every being reflects this name.
In the Qur'an, Al-Bari' appears in Al-Hashr 59:24 between Al-Khaliq and Al-Musawwir. In Al-Baqarah 2:54, Moses tells his people to repent to their Maker (Bari'). Surah Al-Bayyinah calls those who believe and do good khayr al-bariyya, the best of creation.

He is Allah, the Creator, the Producer, the Fashioner; to Him belong the best names. Whatever is in the heavens and earth is exalting Him. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
